Jorge D. Blanco, MD

Dr. Blanco has been associated with the Regional Perinatal Center since 2001. He graduated with a B.A. in Natural Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1971, and his MD degree from The Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1975.  Dr. Blanco completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology (1979), as well as, a Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio Texas (1981). He is Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Blanco’s initial career was in Academic Medicine reaching the rank of Endowed Professor with Tenure. He has many original research publications, book chapters and editorships. He has also been a medical administrator at several levels. In 1997, he was named to the "Best Doctors for Women" list by Good Housekeeping Magazine. He is now in private practice at the Regional Perinatal Center and is the Managing Member of the West Texas Maternal Fetal Medicine Center.
